Still on my V-Drums, but i reckon this one sounds okay, for what it's worth. The backing track a Dave Weckl band track called Someone's Watching. Keys - Jay Oliver, Bass - Tom Kennedy, Sax - not sure, but i think it's Steve Tavaglione (IIRC), Guitar - Frank Gambale, who does an amazing solo. It was all done in Sonar 4, and my V-drums are TD-6V.

Hope you like! Nice airy reverb feeling (that's Lexicon Pantheon for you!).

    Enjoy!

Hey, again. Really nice playing, and you make the Electric Soundset sound very organic in dynamic. I like your Groove idea in the Verse, but I think it would be more proper for the situation to continue in the Half-time in the Chorus too! but again we're all different.

But Again that's makes me say again and again. FIND a Band, you have such huge talent, I don't get it why you're still doing this stuff at home with a Electric Drumset and this Dave Weckl thing.

The earlier you get people to communicate with on a musical level, the more it benefits you when you're in Jam Session situations etc.

Cheers Klemme. Shit i need a band. I do loads of gigs on keyboards, but i just dont have the space to do drum stuff. I need to find a decent bassist anyhow - they're like water in a desert. Musicians my age who i actually WANT to play with are a scarcity anyway. At the moment i'm doing this thing with a guitarist cat who won Young Guitarist of the Year in 2003 IIRC, and is pretty mind-boggling, but we can't find a bassist. We've got a sax player, and i'll be playing keyboards, but we need a drummer (i can't play both at the same time!)for gigs, and we need a bassist! I can multi-track drums, but gigs we need someone, and i reckon it's better having that fuller sound with keys AND guitar, rather than just guitar. Damn it's so difficult. The music scene here in Oxford is supposed to be good! I guess these "opinion-compilers" that seem to make up the rules didn't take in to account the jazz-funk music scene, huh.

Incedentally, any UK cats here (namely Moose, cos i know he's around oxon), please recommend to me any sick funky groovy bassists between 15 and 21 or so. I must have put out at least 200 ads!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Er. We 47-year-old would-be-a-has-been-if-had-been-anything-in-the-first-place don't tend to mix with talented youngsters. Plus technically I'm in Northants...

However, I shall ask my offspring just on the off-chance.

All the UK bassists I know are guitarists who've been in too many bands that already have guitars...

Why not recruit a keyboardist instead and you play drums, man? And make sure you get one who doesn;t use brass sounds. I really don't like them brass-keyboard sounds.

Really very nice drumming. Solid and musical. From what I have read, you seem to be a real young guy 15, or 16? From the maturity and intelligence you have displayed in your posts and your playing I am damned impressed! You are certainlty far more mature than most everyone in your age group. I am smiling listening to such a young cat play some nice drums! Thanks man.

    Cheers for all the comments!

Here's something different, more rocky. This is a track called Fusion Boulevard from a Frank Coniola book. There's a drum solo in the middle.

This was done in one take so i fluff it a little, but i quite like it. Prizes for working out time sigs. It's hard!

    Enjoy!

Hey Lawrence, thats sounding great. I really liked your interpretation of someone's watching. Really different vibe from the original but sounded great and played with conviction. How's the application for Young drummer of the year going?
